I love your blog! I teach photography and would like permission to show your lion photo to my class. Could you possibly email me at the address given with permission (or not)?

I'm using a Cokin P-series holder. The graduated neutral density filter is a Hitech .6 (2 stop) hard-edge GND, which is a square filter that slides into the filter holder. With the Cokin setup, you can slide the GND up and down to position the transition where exactly you want it and also at any angle. Lots of manufacturers make filters that fit the Cokin P-series - I think they are just 85mm square filters, but most say something like "for P-series" on them. I went with the Hitech brand GND because Cokin brand "neutral" filters have a poor reputation of not actually being neutral in color.

I enjoyed this post - found myself nodding my head a few times particularly when you said the first few shots are often always the best ones! Great shot too.
